I thought it was ridiculous when Oprah stated that she was going to Africa to open a school because children here in America were only intetrested in new sneakers, cellular phones and other wordly possessions, with little or no real interest in education.
With that comment she exposed her own ignorance and a serious lack of facts. There are literally thousands of children here in America who could and would benefit from being plucked from their hellish environments and sent to schools where they could be taught in safe, secure , and clean surroundings with great food and state of the art sleeping quarters.
Gosh, a bed to myself and a clean bathroom!
Of course, I would be remiss to permit the many other rich minority figures who spend their money on lavish junk such as super cars, jewelry, estates, and foolish schemes (dog fighting). These dolts all too quickly forget from where they came and those they left behind.
Well I guess the poor children here in America will just have to keep on struggling along tolerating a government that pays only lip service (no child left behind) to their needs with the emergence of an occasional success story.
