THE BLEMISH OF SUPREMACY

When Europeans set up shop in every available corner of the newly discovered American continent, they also planted the imprimatur of “White, Male Supremacy.” This hierarchical device was first used to wrest away the lands and mineral possessions of the indigenous peoples, and then enslave them or otherwise marginalize and control their existence. It was kicked into high gear when the African slave trade began. This kaleidoscopic totem pole of racial superiority, based upon skin color, is the standard that has been applied to each and every one of the world’s other peoples of color who have descended upon this continent.

White, Male Supremacy has been and is practiced throughout this continent in varying degrees of application. The area that became the United States of America distinguished itself by taking white purity and domination to a ridiculously exaggerated degree. Whereas the Portuguese and Spaniards unabashedly blended their blood with Indian and African, thus expanding the social structure to include the “criollo” (Creole) classification. The French had little impact outside of racially benign Canada. They failed in Haiti (and Haiti keeps on failing). They created a modified Creole lifestyle in the New Orleans area, sold the rest of the Louisiana Territory (at a bargain rate), and got the hell out of here.

Although the English colonies received only four per cent of all the Africans brought to the New World, racial apartheid and tension here exceeded that of the rest of the Americas. Those colonists would easily—but only clandestinely—mix their blood with that of the Africans. The unwritten rule was that the issue of any such union, regardless of appearance, was never to be recognized as being a part of the white race.” That same standard was applied to the native peoples.

Now, there was a time when White, Male Supremacy was not only NOT denied, but was highly celebrated. (This occurred during my lifetime.) Today, it remains in the DNA of this nation, but some folks become aghast at the slightest allusion thereto. I am going through this exercise in order to point out the evolution of that “peculiar” DNA (thank you, Condy) and how it is exemplified in our current events.

We are at the point where either an “African American” man or a white woman will be the presidential candidate of one of our major political parties. That so-called African American is the product of a black father and a white mother. Oddly enough, the only person to give the poor guy’s mother any recognition at all is Rush Limbaugh, who calls him a “Halfrican.” As was to be expected, the unexpected twist in the game has caused certain elements to rummage through this candidate’s life and ascribe to him all of the evils perpetrated by anyone with whom he ever has had an association.

Let us contrast this situation with that of the Governor of California, who is a countryman of Adolf Hitler’s and whose father was a Nazi officer. It is significant that, during his campaign, he was accused by a host of women for approaching them with unwanted sexual attention. Similarly, the Catholic Pontiff was a member of the Hitler Youth Organization. Significantly, also, the church that he heads has been found to be a haven for innumerable child-molesters among the clergy.

It is curious that these last two gentlemen descended from a culture that practiced White, Male Supremacy, anti-Semitism—and undeterred misanthropic adventures--to a degree otherwise unknown in the annals of the human race.
