SYNAPSE-SHOTS 2009-20
LIPS of POISON

There is an old movie, “The Strange Woman,” starring Hedy Lamarr, which plot I cannot remember. But, I cannot forget the verse from Proverbs that appeared in the prologue:

The lips of the strange woman drip honey;
Her mouth is smoother than oil;
Her tongue as bitter as wormwood,
Sharp as a two-edge sword.

Exchange “right-wing radio host” with “woman,” above, and you have a perfect description of the former.

Sean Hannity, impatient in his zeal to besmirch further the person of Barack Obama, cleverly has managed to distort time. Just over a month in office is insufficient for his nefarious purposes, ergo, he now contends that even half a year ago, “everybody” knew that Obama was going to win, and that is when the stock market began to slide downward. Of course, he was not included in that “everybody;” he was too immersed in a daily orgy of Jeremiah Wright, et. al.

A San Diego-based host, Rick Roberts, has now greatly outdone Hannity in ascribing guilt through nebulous forays into the past. Roberts lays the current crisis squarely a the feet of minorities and the poor, abetted shamelessly by the Democratic Party. He says it all began when President Carter signed legislation that eased mortgaging rules for those who historically had been treated unfairly by the bankers. Somehow, there has been no Republican rule since Carter, and also excused are those who willy-nilly approved mortgages for anyone able to sign. Then, there are the not-so-poor who also took advantage of the looser climate, and began to acquire more real estate than they could afford. Of course, there is no mention of a goodly portion of the bankers who conspired to bundle worthless paper and push it up and up into the system until—well, we know the rest of the story.

The lack of leadership in the Republican Party has brought about a phenomenon that surely is unique in American history. A silver-tongued entertainer and biased political commentator has become the spokesman and titular head thereof. Rush Lilmbaugh finally saw an opening that would allow him to thoroughly satiate his ever ravenous ego—and, boy, did he run to fill it! So complete is his takeover of the Grand Old Party, that none dare to offend or contradict him. Those who do deign to cross the self-annointed one immediately is excoriated before the golden microphone, and is made to kowtow in humble obeisance for their temerity, hoping to regain the favor of the omnipotent one. The Grand Poobah does not bother himself with fantastic distortions of history, as do his lesser emulators; he merely announces his disdain for the president, along with his fervent wish that he fall flat on his face while attempting to deal lwith the nation’s problems.

The lips of the strange right-wing radio hosts do not drip honey.

The worst threat to our country and government lies witthin our borders.

Anyone who would recklessly say that he hopes the President falls flat on his face is really saying "I WANT THIS COUNTRY TO FAIL".
That person is a Terrorist!

I thogrougly disliked George Bush, but certainly did not want him to fail.
I know fully that when the President fails to do his duty, the country suffers.

The last administration is a perfect example.
Rush Limbaugh is unhappy because the "Good Ole Regime" has lost it's grip.

President Obama has opened the way for our next President to be a woman, a Latino, and possibly a lesbian Latino.

Wouldn't that just freak the White male establishment out!
