IT’S AL QAEDA, STUPID!

We blew it – all of us: Bush; the CIA; the FBI; the congress; and, most of all, Dick Cheney and the Neocons, with their damnably im perialist, “Project for a New American Century”!!!

At the time Dubya made his megaphone speech at Ground Zero, he had enough wind at his back, domestically, along with extensive global empathy, to have mobilized as large an international physical and moral force required to destroy the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, and to have pursued Osama Bin Laden and his remnant minions into those tribal areas in northwestern Pakistan – and to the ends of the earth – if necessary.

While we were “dithering” in Iraq, Osama Bin Laden regularly taunted and humiliated us whilst effectively spreading the notion of radical Islamic jihad throughout the world – and even into our very bowels! We saw very blatant proof of that last week at Fort Hood. It matters not whether Osama Bin Laden still may exist physically, his ability to convert a religion to his own, nefarious ends rivals that of the fabled Beelzebub. Bin Laden shall remain the earth-bound devil for Islam as surely as Satan reigns in hell as the bane of Christianity. So, George W., you and Cheney looking for a legacy? You’re welcome!

I remember my frustration when it was revealed how the 9/11 attackers so successfully eluded our intelligence agencies, where information was so jealously guarded. Frequently, it was not shared internally or with other agencies. I said to myself at the time, “Isn’t ultimate intelligence having a central clearing house for the totality of little bits of information picked up by all intelligence sources?” Then, they created that monstrosity, the Department of Homeland Security. I said, “Ah, then, that should do it.” Wro-o-o-ng! Now, we learn how all sorts of agencies had individual dibs on Major Hassan, but still the sonsofbitches will not share! If they had -- and if Hassan’s timid colleagues had been a bit more perspicacious in analyzing their fellow PSYCHIATRIST! – perhaps a tragedy might have been averted.

Let’s get it right this time. We are not dealing with uniformed tank divisions. Just as the straight-line marching British were befuddled by the colonial rebels shooting at them from behind trees; just as our nuclear arsenal has become a useless relic; just as we are unequipped to fight the “wars” of Iraq and Afghanistan; we must adjust to this clever, anti-Crusadic determination to establish a worldwide caliphate based upon Sharianl law.

Listen to the odes of joy openly being sung to Osama Bin Laden on the streets of London and New York City. Remember the apartments in Germany where 9/11 patiently was plotted. Remember the railroad bombings in Madrid. Remember how French authorities stood by helplessly and watched Paris being littered with burning cars. Note how subverted Islam is invading the Orient.

With Osama Bin Laden – in the flesh or not in the flesh – STILL, it’s "Al Qaeda,” stupid!
