SYNAPSE-SHOTS 2010-28

DEATH or InCONVENIENCE?

I want my life back,

Whines the corporate chief.

I want my life back

From this oil-soaked thief!

This is a bother –

Every single day!

Of course, I’d rather

Not have hell to pay.

This interruption

Of my planned routine

Causes disruption –

Leaves no time to preen.

Can you imagine

How this rocks tea-time?

Our hoary fashion

Fills a need sublime.

Riding, then, at hounds

Trivial may seem.

As the Bard quoths, “Zounds!” –

Well, you have “Jim Beam.”

Royal command is

Quite important, too.

Kissing the queen’s hand

Is an honor true.

See how I suffer,

Here in New Orleans?

Could be a buffer,

Save for oil-stained beans.

Politics annoys

One in this milieu.

Presidential noise

Raises dander, too.

I want my life back.

B-P promised more.

Drilling’s a hat rack

On the ocean floor.

I want my life bak;

This damn Gulf’s too hot!

Yes, you’ll have your life back –

We eleven, though, will not!
