EssaysSYNAPSE-SHOTS 2010-36 iPhone Emits a Wry Tone
An ominous rush fell over the hall. Steve Jobs, Apple’s iconic marketing guru, could not obtain a signal. Here he was in his usual competent (some say, “Overcompetent) mode, demonstrating the latest and 4th issue of the wildly popular iPhones. Frustrated, Steve blamed the audience for his inability to attain a WIFI signal: “If some of you guys would stop texting…”
Several days later, the reports started coming in. People were complaining that, when they held the iPhone a certain way, they could not receive a signal. Steve shot back, “Stop holding it that way!” But the complaints persisted. Is it possible that one of flawless Apple’s most ballyhooed products has developed a flaw?
Some months ago, it was reported that a certain Apple product under development, “inadvertently” had been left in a Palo Alto bar, and ultimately wound up in the hands of certain Internet bloggers. They announced their intention to take the product apart and reverse-engineer it. There was speculation at the time that the item might have been left behind purposely, in order to generate publicity around it. However, if the loss was inadvertent, Steve Jobs’ discomfiture on the platform might have stemmed from this little scenario. Could it be that Apple, in a rush to overcome corporate embarrassment and technological compromise of its product, perilously accelerated its carefully honed R&D process in thiscase?
This morning, it was announced that the public should be on the alert for what would be a shocking announcement: The recall of Apple iPhone 4! Commentsrants |
