ESTACIONES DE ADIOS

Música y Letra de Curtis W. Long

ADIOS, LE DIJE ADIOS.
ERA LA PRIMAVERA.
LAS FLORES SE PUSIERON A LLORAR.
LA LLUVIA, ENTONCES, VINO A TAPAR
SU TRISTEZA.

ADIOS, LE DIJE ADIOS.
JUNTO A LA PRADERA.
EL VIENTO, PRONTO, COMENZO A SOPLAR.
LOS PAJAROS DEJARON DE VOLAR
POR TORPEZA.

ADIOS, ADIOS, ADIOS
QUE PALABRA TAN AUDAZ.
ADIOS, ADIOS, ADIOS.
QUE SE VAYA DE LA FAZ
DE LA TIERRA.

ADIOS, ADIOS, ADIOS.
ES UNA CRUEL MALDICION.
ADIOS, ADIOS, ADIOS.
TAMBIEN UNA DECEPCION
TRAICIONERA.

ADIOS, LE DIJE ADIOS.
AHORA ES EL OTOÑO.
TARDO MUCHO EL VERANO EN PASAR.
LAS HOJAS AL MORIRSE SE OYEN DAR
UN SUSPIRO

ADIOS, LE DIJE ADIOS.
PARECE TODO UN SUEÑO.
EL CORAZON NO SE OYE PALPITAR.
EL CUERPO YA REFLEJA LA FRIALDAD
DEL INVIERNO.

SEASONS OF GOODBYE

Music and lyrics by Curtis W. Long

Goodbye. I said goodbye to him/her
It was springtime
The flowers began to cry
Then the rain came to disguise
Their sadness

Goodbye. I said goodbye to him/her
Beside of the meadow
Suddenly, the wind began to blow
The birds ceased to fly
And stumbled senselessly about

Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye.
What an insolent word
Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye.
Let it be banished from the face
Of the Earth

Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye.
It is a cruel curse
Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye.
Also an unfair deception

Goodbye. I said goodbye to him/her
Now it is autumn
The summer was very slow in passing
The leaves, as they die, are heard to utter
A sigh

Goodbye. I said goodbye to him/her
It all seems so like a dream
I can no longer hear my heart beat
My body is in the cold grip
Of winter

AHI ESTOY YO

Letra y música: Curtis W. Long

AMIGOS, NADA MAS

de Curtis W. Long

Amigos, nada más;
Así nos decimos.
Después de engañarnos,
Creerlo, ya fingimos.

Amigos, nada más,
Somos con la gente;
Mas, entre ella se sabe
Que lo obvio nunca miente.

Palabras son
Como castillos in la arena.
La imaginación
Construye alegría y pena.

El malecón
Nos protege de algo enorme.
Y, desde Japón,
Posible es que a la playa llegue.

Amigos, nada más,
Así seguireremos.
La ola esperaremos.
(HABLADO: Y mientras tanto…)
Aprovecharemos.

Amigos, nada más.

THE BOTTLE OF TIME

Music: Tommy Dodson     Lyrics: Curtis W. Long

I've already lived my future.
I've already spent my time.
So, doctor, don't make that suture;
I ain't got another dime.

Some people depend on welfare.
Some people have lots of cash.
Ma Hubbard's cupboard was so bare,
Her dog looked elsewhere to crash.

It's not how much time you're given-
Not how much time you've got left-
It's just how hard you have striven-
Not if you're sightless or deaf.

So drink up the bottle of time;
There's no deposit, no return.
To lose it-not use it-'sa crime;
It matters not how much you earn.

Come, get up off'a the sofa.
Get your ass out'a that chair.
It's high time that you left Oprah.
Go out and get some fresh air.

'Sa damn shame just to sit staring,
Watching the world go around.
You should be out somewhere, sharing,
Planting your feet on the ground.

I've already lived my future.
I've already spent my time.
So, doctor, don't make that suture;
I ain't got another dime.

FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND

BY Curtis W. Long

This is a song with a message clear,
That offers a simple solution.
And to us all with the power to hear,
It speaks for the earth's evolution.

Discord here at home, with that abroad,
Is dang'rously settled with vi'lence.
We should know by now we can't afford,
In this day, so much reckless license.

We've got to walk along together,
Or we'll never reach the line.
We've got to start to think of whether
We shall live on borrowed time.

It we'll just take a look around us,
We'll see footprints in the sand.
And when they all come into focus,
There'll be folks, all hand in hand.

And when they speak, they'll sound a warning
For the world on this sad day.
So, if you want to see the morning,
Please take heed to what they say:

You'd better get along; let peace be with you,
Oh, good people, one and all.
There's bound to be a song of love among you;
Let the whole world hear its call.

You must not let your hate and anger
And false pride tell you you're brave.
That is, by no means, quite the answer;
It leads only to the grave.

So, if you want to see the future,
Take each other by the hand,
Or else, you'll all revert to nature,
Like we footprints in the sand.

SEASONS OF GOODBYE

Music and Lyrics by Curtis W. Long

GOODBYE, WE WHISPERED GOODBYE.
IT HAPPENED IN THE SPRINGTIME.
THE FLOWERS SUDDENLY BEGAN TO CRY.
THE RAINDROPS FROM A DARK CLOUD PASSING BY
HID THEIR SADNESS.

GOODBYE, WE WHISPERED GOODBYE.
THE MEADOW GLOWED WITH SUNSHINE.
THE WIND BEGAN TO RUSTLE IN THE TREES.
THE BIRDS IN FLIGHT RESEMBLED BUMBLING BEES
STUNG BY MADNESS.

GOODBYE, GOODBYE, GOODBYE.
WHAT A BRAVE AND CLEVER WORD.
GOODBYE, GOODBYE, GOODBYE.
MAY IT NEVERMORE BE HEARD--
EVEN WHISPERED.

GOODBYE, GOODBYE, GOODBYE.
IS A CRUEL AND DAMNING TERM.
GOODBYE, GOODBYE, GOODBYE.
IT'S A WORD THAT CAN BE CHURNED,
BENT AND TWISTED.

GOODBYE, WE WHISPERED GOODBYE.
THE AIR IS FILLED WITH AUTUMN.
THE SUMMER SEEMED SO SLOW IN PASSING BY.
THE GOLDEN LEAVES APPEAR TO HEAVE A SIGH
IN THE SHADOWS.

GOODBYE, WE WHISPERED GOODBYE.
MY LIFE APPEARS TO SPLINTER/.
I HEAR NO MORE THE BEATING OF MY HEART.
AND I'VE BECOME ANOTHER SILENT PART
OF THE WINTER.

THERE AM I

Music: Tommy Dodson         Lyrics: Curtis W. Long

You, on the shore; I far at sea.
How could we have known
This, for us, life would be?
Come, touch my heart; feel ev'ry beat.
The sun never shone
Where our minds didn't meet.

Slowly, the waves lull me to sleep;
My loneliness fades
With the sounds of the deep.
For you are here, right by my side.
Now, I'm unafraid;
You came out with the tide.

Where you are, there am I-
Yesterday or tomorrow.
Near or far, there am I-
I would beg, steal or borrow.

On the shore, there am I-
Constantly close beside you.
Far at sea, there am I-
In my dreams, I can hide you.

So, here we are, now, you and I,
Aware, at long last,
For us there's no "goodbye."
Sailing the world, though I may be,
I ever hold fast
To my fond reverie.

I, COLÓN

By Curtis W. Long

I, Colón, am the servant of destiny;
Honor to Spain will I bring.
To the throne, and your most gracious majesty,
Praises of joy will they sing.

I, alone, with this feeling of far-away,
Have run the gauntlet of hope.
None did own, as thee, courage enough to say:
We with the unknown shall cope!

Long have I followed that dream;
Long has its pull tugged me on;
Long has my heart felt the anguish
Of chances which have come and gone.

Finally, now, it does seem;
Finally, now comes the dawn;
Finally, Fate's to relinquish her hold-
And Colón is reborn.

I've not known a like moment of joy before;
Tears to my eyes does it bring.
And I, Colón, will be grateful forevermore
To thee, Isabel, and the king.

SIEMPRE LA PASION

Música: Tommy Dodson        Letra: Curtis W. Long

Yo veo que entre todo lo que hay en ti,
Tu alegre risa, tu modo de ser,
Sin mencionar más de ti, mi amor,
Es muy fácil recordar
Que lo que me atrae
Siempre es la pasión.

Los años un sentimiento crean en mí;

SOMEBODY LOVED ME

Music and Lyrics: Curtis W. Long
(Inspired by and Dedicated to Rudy Render)

Just a look; there're no sighs.
Not a touch for prying eyes.
That's the way it was, as fleeting years went by.

We both knew, that's for sure.
Neither could push the door.
Who can say...? We might have won, but for a sigh.

That certain time of the year, a special package would come;
The wrapping so familiarly significant.
But, much too soon, I would hear that you were suddenly gone.
The wonder, now, is why we were so reticent.

Leafing through notes of yore,
Unread words slip to the floor.
They reveal these thoughts, penned seven years ago:

When loving is due,
I think about you.
Bet you never knew
How much I loved you.

There it was, loud and clear,
Words I longed so to hear!
For now I know, at least,
Somebody loved me.

THE MONSTER SUBLIMINABLE

Music: Tommy Dodson       Lyrics: Curtis W. Long
Introduced by Christina Fasano

In the frightful village Washingtone-able,
In the castle Whitehouse,
There lives a monster quite subliminable,
As sneaky as a mouse.

(HOOK)
From yon castle fortress-able,
Feared monster subliminable
Should not try the Spanish-able,
But learn proper English-able.

(HOOK)

In the scary castle forbid'nable,
Where our monster doth sleep,
Lurks brutal warden Richard Chainsaw-able;
Careful watch doth he keep.

(HOOK)

It is well known throughout the kingdom-able-
Lo, as far as Topeke-
The monster escapes at every chance-able,
And, zounds, doth he dare speak!

(HOOK)

The warden bold and his faithful staff-able,
Alert for any sign,
Will thwart posthaste the least unutterable,
Odd, linguistic design.

(HOOK)

But, worse, by far, in this dilemmable,
The Language God be praised,
Our monster dareth to be bilinguable!
Thus, no one now is saved.

(HOOK)

The only release for nerves so taxed-able,
In manner non-verbose,
Is to ship the monster back to Texable
And bid him adios!

(HOOK)

THIS I WILL DO

By Curtis W. Long

This I will do, before the evening sun:
I'll follow the plans that I have made;
I'll nail them one by one.

This I will do, before the moon appears:
I'll taste the wine of many a vine,
Of many fruitful years.

So, listen carefully, all you dreamers:
Even though you've been there before,
You will notice-for time is endless-
That it's the same old door.

This I will do, before the stars come out.
The faded path that I have trod
Has followed me about.

This I will do, I promise with my heart:
I'll do the things I intended to do-
I'll make a brand new start.

YEAR TWO THOUSAND

Music: Tommy Dodson      Lyrics: Curtis W. Long

"Y - 2 - K"
Is what they say
Will make this old Earth stand still.

Without lights,
The starry nights
May sweeten a bitter pill.

Fifty years ago,
The cent'ry mark seemed quite remote.
Geeks, then, did not know
How dire would be the dates they wrote.

Crucial digit space
Was saved without the "one" and "nine;"
Steadily apace,
The years left those two far behind.

Now the time has come;
We're ready for the big Two Thou'
Could he be that dumb?
Could just two digits throw off HAL?

Keep cash in your drawer;
Be sure there's water, fuel and food.
Blackouts are a bore,
A sample of HAL's ugly mood.

Year Two Thousand is
Millennium and centr'ry, too;
This big bash may fizz
And make the whole wide world a zoo!

"Y - 2 - K"
Is what they say
Will make this old Earth stand still.

Without lights,
The starry nights
May sweeten a bitter pill.
