HAIL, COLUMBIA!!!

Retaining the coarseness of its native son Andrew Jackson, and consistent with managing the first, attention-getting canon shots of the Civil War, south Carolina, through its capital city Columbia, has been able to keep itself in the national political spotlight.

Last year, it was the poetico-romantic Governor Mark Sanford who absented himself from the governor’s mansion for a clandestine, week-long Argentine fling, via a phantom traipse along the Appalachian Trail.

Previously, Strom Thurmond, for decades in the U.S. Senate, glibly spouted his racist rhetoric. Meanwhile, all along, he was harboring the secret of the African American child he had fathered in his youth.

Currently, the Carolinian capers have become compellingly curious. Gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley has been stung by two of the South’s most salient social attributes; 1) The sin of ungentlemanliness; and 2) Biting, racist commentary.

Further proliferating the potent, political put-down, two pusillanimous operatives of her same party, suspiciously claim to have biblical acquaintance of the lady. Haley, who has the, Sarah Palin, “Good Family-keeping Seal of Approval,” so far has not responded. However, she now finds it necessary to mention her husband in her political ads.

To top that off, state senator Jake Knotts took the opportunity of insult-coupling the president of the United States with Mrs. Haley in a single religio-racist affront. Referring to Nkki Haley’s Sikh-Indian  background, he allowed as to since there already is a “rag-head in the White House, there certainly was no need for another in the State House.
